I contacted Tom for an estimate to install a kitchen backsplash. He arrived promptly and provided the estimate and to my pleasant surprise could schedule me the next day which we did. Tom and crew arrived on time and installed tile, returned next day to finished the job. I found Tom to be very informative regarding his knowledge and expertise on tile, showers installations and flooring. While there we asked for an estimate to redo our master bath. All in all I enjoyed working with Tom and his team, they listened to what I wanted and worked to make us happy with the completed project. I would recommend Tom and expect to be working with him in future.

Bluegrass Flooring installed a backsplash in my kitchen.  They did an outstanding job installing my herringbone pattern and I love it!!  They are super nice and professional.  They do excellent work and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing tiling work done.  They arrive on time and clean up when they are finished.  I would definitely use them again!

Bluegrass Flooring was hired to replace a tile shower that had been incorrectly installed by another contractor just a few months earlier. Tom and his crew did a wonderful job and have restored my faith in tile setters and contractors in general as we had a nightmarish experience with the previous contractor who originally installed our shower.
Tom thoroughly evaluated our shower and patiently answered the many questions and concerns I had. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of showers, floors and tile setting (and many other topics I suspect) and was very clear in explaining our options. I was so thrilled to be working with someone who REALLY knew what they were doing. We decided to go with the Kerdi waterproof shower system and urethane-based grout as the main problem with our previous shower (besides poor overall workmanship) was moisture being retained in the grout and in the wall behind the tile. Tom emailed an estimate within a few days. I wasn’t sure what tile we should go with and he recommended a couple of tile stores. When I visited one of the tile stores he had recommended just a few days later, Tom happened to be there and took the time to walk me through tile options. I was so thankful, as I would have been overwhelmed trying to narrow down so many choices on my own. He then went with me to the other tile store he had recommended and went through options there as well. He was able to start working on our shower within a few weeks. Everything was handled professionally throughout the entire process. Tom mentioned to us that “your house is your castle” and he and his crew indeed treated our house with great care while working. They picked up and folded all drop cloths that led to the bathroom after working each day. They also used our detached garage as a staging area for all of their equipment and supplies while working. They cut all tile outside so we didn’t have any tile dust generated in the house, unlike the previous contractors. Even the garage was left neat and organized after each day’s work. Every day when we would come home after they had worked, it was like no one had been in our house at all, as nearly all supplies were in the garage and the bathroom was tidy. Tom estimated the job would take about 10 days. It took 11 working days and then a few hours one other day to put in a couple of towel bars. Tom also went with us to help pick out a quartz curb cap and a top for the built in seat in the shower, and while we were there he gave us a tour and educated us about how large stone is cut – very cool. Tom, Mike and John were very easy to work with and I enjoyed their company when I happened to be there when they were working. Their work was exceptional. I cannot begin to accurately describe the difference in the quality of their workmanship compared to how our previous shower was installed. Like night and day! We LOVE our new shower. It is beautiful. I think about how depressed and upset I felt whenever I looked at our original shower knowing we had settled for inferior work. Chipped, scratched, uneven tiles, sloppy grout work, and the main problem: excessive moisture retention in the grout and in the walls behind the tile that made the shower unusable. We have none of that with our shower by Bluegrass Flooring. I am a detail-oriented person (just a bit OCD) and I can tell you, I am very impressed with their work. The tiles are straight, even, with a well-thought out arrangement and neat grout work – really a work of art. After they were finished with the tile work, Tom recommended a drywall repair contractor to fix the drywall where the tile met the ceiling and wall. That contractor also did excellent work. We then re-painted those areas ourselves. Tom also coordinated with a glass contractor to install our shower door. The door took about a week and a half to be made. The first door that was ordered by the glass company was cut 1/8” too wide, so it wouldn’t fit in the opening. This was the fault of the glass company who cut it incorrectly. The door was re-ordered and was successfully installed one and a half weeks later. Now that the door is in, I can happily report that all is well with our shower. It is beautiful and it functions as it should, with no moisture retention in the grout. We will also likely have Bluegrass Flooring come back and replace the main tile floor in our bathroom as that was improperly installed by the previous contractor and is already failing. I highly recommend Bluegrass Flooring. Thank you again.
Installed a subway tile back-splash.
Mr. Smith followed up several times with my mother after pricing the job to see if she was ready for his service. Once the counter-top had been installed he scheduled a time and was very punctual. He had to make several trips and always showed up when scheduled. He worked with the cabinet person to see that everything was level before he finished his job. My mother really appreciated his help and concern to make sure that everything looked great.
